Hey, friends! If you dread going grocery shopping, I want to share two tools that may help.
First, my Grocery List Starter for Plant-Based Meals.
Why I like it:
- It has a place to plan out your weekly meals and snacks on the left side. Check off each meal once all items required for it are on the list.
- It emphasizes fruits and vegetables, reminding you to get those goodies in. I pre-loaded it with snackable fruits, such as apples and mandarin oranges--which I pack with lunches, lemons and limes that I use in many of my sauces and dressings, and vegetables frequently used in my recipes.
- It contains only a few sections, unlike grocery lists tear-off pads I've seen for purchase online. I tend to think of the grocery as only a few departments: Produce, Dry & Canned goods (grains/beans/peanut butter, spices and what I call "flavor agents" - soy sauce, BBQ sauce, etc), Fridge & Frozen, and Misc items. Somehow thinking of it this way makes it less overwhelming!
- And finally... if you're enjoying my Recipes, it has a QR code to take you quickly to the website so you don't forget any recipe ingredients. Printable Grocery List Starter
Second, I really like the OurGroceries app. It requires a small time investment to get the most benefit, but if you tend to make the same dozen recipes on rotation, it's super helpful. You can enter a recipe into the app, with all its necessary ingredients, and with a single click add them all to your list. So when you're planning a grocery run, click on the 4-5+ recipes you'll have this week and all the ingredients will populate to your grocery list.
It also has a feature to share the app with family members, so anyone in the family can add an item to the grocery list, and the list syncs across all your devices. Best of all, it's FREE!
